The Decimal Equivalent is obtained by multiplying each binary digit with its potential value. The right most bit has positional value 2^0 , the second right most bit has value 2^1 and so on.
Example :
Convert the binary number 11001 into its decimal equivalent.
Answer :
11001 ( Binary Number ) = 1 X 2^4 + 1 X 2^3 + 0 X 2^2 + 0 X 2^1 + 1 X 2^0
= 16 + 8 + 0 + 0 + 1
= 25 ( Decimal Number )
Therefore ,
( 11001 )(base 2) = (25)(base 10)
